The prestigious Shanghai ranking of the best universities in the world was unveiled this Saturday, August 15. Tunisia is the only Maghreb country to be included. The University of Tunis El Manar has made a place for itself in the top 1000 of the best institutions in the world.
The ranking, considered a common reference throughout the world, has been in existence since 2003. Tunisia joined the list in 2019. It is a first in the Maghreb, since no other university, whether Algerian or Moroccan, has been able to obtain a place in this top 1000.
The University of Tunis El Manar has fallen one rank since 2019. It was ranked between 801 and 900, where it overtook French universities such as the National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse and the University of Angers. It was also ahead of Canadian, British and American universities.
